Next day travelled up A7 which is a road I like, and visited Hawick. Stayed at ‘Nightowl’ – redecorated room, new furniture good pint, decent breakfast. That was a new section for me and on the autumn day I was travelling it was beautiful. Travelled up A68 till it met the A69 then travelled over to Carlisle. I did my last trip more or less in reverse as it covered some routes I had not travelled for years. I have eaten evening meals at this Transport Cafe and they were generally very good indeed.
